One American Center - Austin, Downtown, 2006
40 feet diameter, approximately half-disc shaped acrylic mirror, set to cover the similarly shaped arrangement of the granite sidewalk entrance. The installation mirrors the arched entrance of the Center, therefore creates a temporary and illusionary wholeness where we can experience the built surroundings and ourselves in it - both physically and as an image. The mirror on the ground dramatically enhances our perception of space but also makes this expansion an illusion.
The installation was also conceived as a photography project.
